The Iconic Eames Chair

A collaboration with The Style Wallet, an interior design and style blog. The Studio is collaborating with Style Wallet founder Meaghan McGrath to bring to life one of the most iconic mid-century modern inspired silhouettes, The Eames Chair.

In 1956, Charles and Ray Eames released one of the most iconic mid century modern furniture silhouettes. The Eames lounge chair, and matching ottoman, was first produced by The Herman Miller Furniture company. When the design launched, Eames was quoted saying the wanted the chair to have the “warm, receptive look of a well-used first baseman's mitt.” The original design featured moulded Brazilian hardwood and leather.

Though there are many replicas on the market today, the original is still handcrafted. The Eames chair is also part of a permanent collection in New York’s Museum of Modern Art.

In celebration of the art that is the Eames lounge chair, this vintage inspired print brings to life the elegance and sophistication of this timeless furnishing.
